Goodbye Uncle Tim

Tim got a teaching job in Williston, ND. This was the last time we would see him, until Matthew's birthday. We were trying to get some pictures of him and the kids, but this is as good as it got.

Early Harvest Fun!

While in Fergus this Saturday we picked some of Grandpa Darrell's onions. Matthew would have picked everything in the garden if we let him.

Matthew and some of the fresh produce!
Even Abby got in on the harvesting. She didn't even get an onion on the first try, but was pleased as a peach even so.
After the onions, they moved on to the potatoes.
They needed a place to put the potatoes as this harvest was not exactly planned, so Grandpa Darrell said "Put the in my hat!" Said like a true farmer.

Visiting Grandma and Grandpa Tungseth

Saturday we took another trip to Fergus Falls, so Todd could help his aunt with some things. Grandma Tina took us out to McDonalds and Matthew was of course being weird.

Matthew also planted some corn and pumpkins and gourds at the farm. Her he is by his corn. Most of it is growing good, however everything got planted really late, and so his gourds are growing, but haven't produced anything yet. Maybe soon though.

Matthew standing next to one of the pumpkins that Grandpa Darrell planted. They are growing good.
Abby didn't really get in on all the spring planting, so here she is trying to drive the tractor. She really got torked off when Matthew tried to join in.

Some of our house projects

A few weeks ago I had a garage sale with a friend at our house. A lady stopped by and said she was the one that built our house so I let her come in and see her old house. She told us that there was hardwoods under the bedroom floors and sure enough there was. Here is our bedroom the only one we have taken the carpet out of so far. We didn't even have to refinish the floors!
So the floors were last week and this weekend we put in a new bathtub and shower surround. It was supposed to be a easy one day fix, but we all know how that goes. Well, as of Sunday night its all in and the tub is usable, however we had to take out a lot more drywall then planned and so know this week we will be putting that back in and then painting. The picture above is just after we took the old tiles out. Man were they ever gross!
Work in progress!!!!!!!!

This weeks garage sale finds!

Ok, so this isn't a picture of a garage sale find but it sure is cute! I found the kids like this one day while I was getting ready.
One garage sale that Matthew and I found on Saturday had a ton of costume stuff so Matthew and I got the majority of it. Here he is modeling some of the finds. If you could only have seen the big smile under that mask thing.
I also found Matthew a skate board at a sale and I knew he had been wanting one so I got it and told him he could only have it if he promised to wear a helmet and shoes that tie every time he rode it. Of course he said he promised he would.I guess Todd is not as thrilled about the skateboard as Matthew and I were, but hopefully he won't get hurt on it, so it dosen't come back to haunt us.

Boating On Pelican Lake

L
Last Sunday we went Boating on Pelican Lake with my mom and dad. This was the first time this summer we had been boating. We stopped on the sandbar and got out with the kids and swam for a while and since the kids had water shoes this time they really liked it.
Abby in her matching swimsuit and hat. They hat, of course, didn't stay on.
Matthew scooping up some sand in the little net.
Matthew trying to avoid a picture.
An attempt at a family picture. Its ok that its not the best. I don't think I would be putting a picture of me in my swimsuit in the Christmas letter.

National Night Out and Crusin Broadway

Last week the kids and I went to National Night Out in West Fargo. It was a fun time and I think every different branch of the Police was there. In the picture above Matthew is petting one of the DNR deer. They were really tame!

Matthew got his face painted army style by this man. He was very proud of it, and of course didn't want to wash it off.
Last week Matthew put on his corvette shirt and hat and went to cruising Broadway with Grandpa Joe and Grandma Wanda.
