An early morning roundup

A few weeks ago the kids and I (along with a few thousand other people) went to SD with my mom and dad for the annual Custer State Park Buffalo Roundup.

We had to get up very early and wait in traffic for a long time.

Everyone had lots of coffee and hot chocolate.

And fun.

Except maybe the buffalo who were about the gets there yearly shots and medical checkups!

One of lifes lessons

Matthew had the privilege of learning one of life's lessons from Grandpa a few weeks ago

He learned to check the oil.

And he learned that sometimes you have to add just a little.

Seeing alot of this lately

Lately we've been seeing a lot of this.
All babies all the time.
And the more the merrier.

She is such a good mommy to her babies.
Well....except when she leaves them outside overnight
or doesn't feed them for a few days.

So fun to see her turning into a little girl instead of a toddler!

Minnesota State Fair

Saturday we went to the Minnesota State Fair. It was a beautiful day so of course everyone and there brother decided to go that day also! Every were you looked there were people!

I had first thought we would end up staying until the evening to see the fair lights at night, but by about 5:00 we had all had enough of the people. Surprising enough it really wasn't a big deal to keep track of the kids. They were really good about staying right next to us or in the stroller.

Matthew and Abby were the only ones to go on any rides. Here Matthew is on the Dragon Roller coaster.

Abby on the swings.

We all took a ride on the Ski Lift. I really didn't want to ride, but we needed one more rider to go with one of the kids. I choose to go with Matthew because I knew I would have to keep it together for him, and I also knew that he would sit really still and not rock the car that we were in. It wasn't that bad once we got in the air, but I could still do without. :) Despite that crowds it was fun, but Todd and I would both like to go back WITHOUT kids.

A Wedding

Friday night we went to the wedding of Todd's cousin Brian and his new wife Heather. They had a beautiful outdoor wedding in Minneapolis.

The kids are dancing together above. They were one of the few on the floor at the time, so they got alot of oh's and ah's of course!

Getting started on Christmas gifts

I'm getting started early on my Christmas gifts this year. I was in the sewing mood and had found this tutorial for a chef hat one day. Once I made the hat I decided that a apron would be very cute also. I just made that up on my own. I love the ruffle on the bottom and am glad I did it because I almost skipped that part. After the apron I found another tutorial for a oven mitt. It was really easy and I think they all look so cute together. I am investigating felt food now to go with it.

What time is it anyways?!?!?!

So Matthew has been getting up really early lately. I mean REALLY early like not even 5 A.M sometimes. He still takes a nap so its not that big of a deal, but really does he need to be up that early? I don't think so. Anyways, I posted about it on my facebook status and asked if anyone had any ideas. Got lots of comments, but I liked the one from Molly best and I had all the stuff to do it. She suggested that I take an old clock and cover everything and put little stickers on the time that he could get up. So I made that this afternoon, and presented it to him when he got up from his nap.
I told Matthew when the hands are both on the Monster Trucks he can get up. He was eager to hang it in his room, and I'm eager to see if it actually works. Thanks for the idea Molly!
